White Roses and Silver

Can you believe it rained the other day in California? We were amazed and everyone talked about how fun it was and how much they loved it...you always want what you can't have! Today it's going to be in the triple digits.
When I heard it was going to rain, I went out and picked all my roses.
There were quite a few roses to be picked. It forced me to get out there and take advantage of them!
Some of the roses had shorter stems and I made bouquet for my silver teapot. Oops...I just said "My" silver teapot. I guess that means I am keeping it. Remember all the silver I found a few weeks ago? You can read about that here.
I have sold three pieces of it so far and just listed the jewelry box.
I love the white against the silver.
I like the different sized roses, some open some just budding.

Can you see the tips of my artichokes out the window to the right? We enjoyed two large artichokes and now these little guys are flowering.
There quite a few long stem roses left over. I planned on using a few white pitchers, but I didn't have the heart to cut the stems down too far. So, I used this tall crystal vase (Las Vegas garage sale $2)

The rain did come and for us it was pretty heavy. I was happy I had cut them all when I did!

Now.....after scratching my head for days (and shedding a few tears) I think I have finally figured out what went wrong. My blog post were no longer on the feed and Bloglovin" did not recognize my blog to make the big switch!

  2. Oh, these roses are exquisite! I'm glad you cut them to enjoy before the rain came.
Triple digit here too. 106 yesterday and today!
What did you do to get Bloglovin to recognize your blog. It tells me I have a valid feed, but that it can't recognize it. Help! ~ Sarah

    1. Thanks, Sarah. I am glad I picked all of the roses when I did!
I was reaching out every where for an answer about my feed and got an email that said, "I think you've set your own blog url as Post feed redirect url, this isn't correct. Suggest you clear this field." I showed it my husband and he said, "Get up!" So I moved over and two minutes everything was fixed! Once I did that I could claim my blog. :) I love how I say, "once I did that." I guess I should say, "Once STAN did that..." Those computer things make no sense to me. Frustrating.

    1. It was fun to finally be back on the feed. Even when I visited people, they weren't visiting back. :( I think a lot people depend on those feeds. We'll see!

      Enjoy your Sunday!

    1. Oh wow! That's amazing! I don't think people really get that we actually get excited and nostalgic about the rain. For now we are stuck in the triple digits for at least four or five more days!!!

  7. I hate changes sometimes.

My hard drive crashed last weekend - and everything was backed up fine except (you guessed it) ALL my blog photos. Every single one of them.

So, you see, my sweet friend - it really CAN be worse!

LOVE your beautiful roses and awesome crystal and silver - just gorgeous.

    1. Thanks, Liz!! I know, it was hard for me when we lived in Brittany, France for almost 4 years. I just was not used to the rain and grey. Being a native Californian you don't realize how spoiled you are until you live elsewhere for a while. My French husband has adapted to our weather quite nicely!! Scotland is such a beautiful country!!! When I was a little girl we stayed in a castle bed and breakfast and watched hot air balloons over a gorgeous meadow one day. It has stayed in my mind and I was only 11 or 12. :)

  11. Karen I agree with you about how gorgeous White roses are. I was with my mom in a lovely coffee shop here where they had a gorgeous White and red flower arrangement and I so admired the whites ones more. The roses and silver teapot it's perfect! Thanks for your sweet comments. Have a happy Fourth too.
