These pretty pink depression glasses from France even looked beautiful just drying on the rack.
But, paired up with my transferware and silver tray, I found them just dreamy.
Nice linens and bottle of French rose on a warm summer evening....divine!
I have been told to buy and sell what you love. I do that with my Etsy shop. I love everything I have to offer.
The only problem is letting go. I was having a hard time with these pretty glasses and especially with my silver tray.
I haven't even been able to bring myself to list my tray. One of the down falls of being an antique/vintage dealer.
I was thrilled when my glasses sold the day after I listed them, but even more tickled when I knew exactly where they were going. They found a beautiful home at Michele's from The Nest at Finch Rest. Look at the glasses she already had and her beautiful table here.
For now, I will consider these dishes as "red" transferware. But, I will dream a little of my pink palace...
Bisous!

all really lovely - pink is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bernideen.
DeleteThey really are exquisite! And it makes it special when you know a blog friend has them to enjoy! You've made someone else happy...that's so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am very happy they are going to a blog friend. I know they'll be loved!
DeleteKaren
Oh this collection is lovely, I also adore pink at home, specially for tabletop things. How fun and nice to know those gorgeous things went to our friend at Finch's Nest! You will see them around in her posts too! Have a great week ahead and thank you for your kind visit. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Thanks, Fabby! When I set this up I realized I would LOVE to have more pink. It's s soft and pretty! I don't as much strange space as you though....or any great old chests to tuck them away...so I had to let go! :) Thanks for visiting!

These are all beautiful, and I understand what you mean. I am so often torn about the things I sell, wanting to hold them for myself, but when they are gone I find new treasures to replace them. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura. Torn is right. It can be hard. You are so right though, seems that every time I mail something off, I pick up five more things while out shopping! )

I love pink glassware! I can see why it sold so fast....And as to that tray, I would hang onto it too!!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Thanks, Carol. Tray is still not listed. It's is pretty and versatile. Don't think I'll be letting go anytime soon! You may get sick of seeing it in my posts! lol
DeleteKaren
These are gorgeous! I collect blue willow but find myself drawn to the red and pink, too. That tray is a real keeper!
ReplyDeleteYour have great taste and style!
Hugs,
Patti
Thank you, Patti! LOVE blue willow. I have a few pieces, even though I have no blue either. I am really going to go beige neutral on the walls soon so I can accommodate all my colors! I'd love more blue!!

Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteThankyou so much for your recent visit and comment on my Auction finds posting. The comment you made about the potting shed is funny! The home is way out in the middle of nowhere really.
I love your vignette on the tray, lovely! I have a tray that looks alot like that one. Thanks for following me, I am following you back! Have a great Sunday!
Gina at Victorian Wanna Be
Gina, that's funny. When I told my husband about the house, he said, maybe it's way out in the middle of no where. Still, amazing house and price.
DeleteExcited to be following you! Great blog!
Karen
I think I would have the very same problem! I would buy so many beautiful things that I love too much to let go!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that your selling is going well, and I hope that you don't get "empty nest syndrome" with each sale! :-)
Thanks Alycia! I am far from empty nest syndrome!!! It's all around me everywhere! We have a small place ;) Seems like every time I sell something I find five more things. It's a lot of fun though!!!

Oooh so lovely! I am totally a pink girl, but I live in a house with three boys, so I don't get to use it as much as I would like to. These pieces are just gorgeous. I can see why it's hard to let go of them! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, Karen! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDelete~Abby =)
I always love the Rachel Aswell look with soft pinks, blues, aquas and white. I wonder if I would choose those colors if I lived alone?
ReplyDeleteYour dishes and glasses are lovely and are calling out for high tea.
You have great willpower, I would have stashed them away, lol. They are stunning and you presented them beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine!! It was a lot of fun to see your collections! Man!! Maybe if I get organized like you, I could keep a little more than I do! :)

I love pink dishes. My mom had some beautiful pink wine glasses which I always admired from a far....lol.....afraid I would break them. Cheers
ReplyDeleteI love pink too and I don't use it in my house much either. I keep wishing for a set of pink pyrex to display but really, where? LOL! I love those pretty glasses!
ReplyDeleteI only started liking pink this last year and these are so pretty Karen! I'm afraid to have pretty glasses because Sam breaks about 1 a week these days!!
ReplyDeleteI so wish they were flying across to me! They are stunning, just stunning!
ReplyDeleteI do too! Love your pink swirl glassware - they're exquisite and you created some very lovely photos. I hope you have a blessed week,
ReplyDeleteKathy
Hi, Those were really pretty. I can see how you would want to part with some things...Connie
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I know Michele. She's not going to sell them I hope. They are gorgeous. I could never attempt to buy and sell. My house would be more full than it is now I just know it. I really enjoyed seeing your lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteThose pink glasses are beautiful. My Mom always had her home full of pink and I always said "I'll never have pink" and now I am discovering I kinda like pink. I always have to eat my words!!
ReplyDeleteJudy
Such pretty glasses. The shade of pink is perfect. I don't know how you let them go.. I love the tranferware too. Very lovely pattern. I also have a very similar silver tray which I use often. I know what you mean, Karen, I don't have much pink decor in my home, but I LOVE THE COLOR! I can see why it is hard for you to part with that silver tray - it's beautiful. I think I would hold on to it. The pink glasses are so pretty, and I'm glad they went to someone who appreciates them as much as you did.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Love,
~Sheri
Those depression glasses are simply beautiful. I imagine they will be enjoyed immensely by their new owner.
ReplyDeleteI can see why it would be hard to let go of those beauties, for sure. I love the swirls!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love all those different dishes! Thanks for sharing it at MOnday Funday!
ReplyDeleteI would not make money as an antiques dealer. Everything that I run across that would make money, I want to keep for myself. Beautiful china, glasses and tray.
ReplyDeleteOh I have to agree about how hard it is to let some things go. How fun that sweet Michele got the pink glasses! That is such a pretty stack of china too. Thanks for following my Tumblr! I love it. I'm now following you too! Happy June!
ReplyDeleteOooh - I just love these pink glasses. They are to die for!
