Mission Beach, San Diego

We just got back from three nights in San Diego and three nights in Vegas. Relaxing perfect trip in every way. Lucas stayed home with grandma, because he is a junior volunteer at our Parks and Rec this summer. He felt it would be irresponsible to miss one week. I am really proud of him.
Dumped our luggage off at the hotel and headed straight for the beach. Mission Beach is a very popular beach in San Diego with the typical two lane walkway sandwiched between the beautiful beach and funky little summer rentals. When you think of perfect Californian weather...this is it. Just perfect. Not too hot, the sand was even bearable on your tootsies. We escaped triple digit weather in Sacramento for 75-80 degree comfort.
Can you even see Lucie hidden in all that color? She had a wonderful time at Mission Beach and did enjoy being an only child for the week. This was Stan's only full day with us in San Diego so, I am glad we went to the beach. It was relaxing and fun. After this, Lucie and I were on our own. Stan was very busy the entire time we were there. His boss was quite intense. Scheduling 7 am breakfasts before the meetings/labs even began and then booking dinners and cocktails until late each evening to socialize with clients.

Stan's conference was at the Manchester Hyatt on the Harbor right in down town San Diego. It was a perfect location and there was a lot to do within walking distance.
I look forward to sharing a few pictures. While Stan was busy with work, Lucie and I went to Legoland one day, Old Town San Diego one evening and had fun shopping at Horton's Plaza. It's funny though; one of the best memories is the afternoon that Lucie and I rented The Croads, got room service and just hung out together in the room :)

Thanks for coming along! Have you ever been to San Diego?

Bisous,
Karen

    1. Maybe you'll make it out to California sometime. I think you'd like it. I'd love to spend more time out East. I have gone to a few states there, but not, Michigan, Illinois, Massachusetts, and I'd love to go to Maine. I have never been to the south either! Blogging is fun, because you get see all of those areas :) I did have a lot of fun with Lucie, we went to Legoland too :)

    1. Thanks, Danni! It was a lot of fun. It was a totally different dynamic being alone with Lucie. We had a ball. I have lots of pictures of Old Town, will probably post about it....we got homemade tortillas on the street. I want to drive back just for those.

Looks like so much fun :) So I was just noticing your blog isn't showing up on my reader ...I then went to by blog page and scrolled down to the blogs I enjoy visiting and it said yours hasn't been posted on for 3 months - strange! I am not sure what happened, but I apologize for not realizing it sooner - I have missed visiting you. I hope you are well and I will look forward to catching up.

    1. The hotel was really nice and right by a fun harbor with shops and restaurants. Stan enjoyed the conference. There was even a big dinner party on The Midway, aircraft Carrier with fireworks. Lucie and I did our own thing though. California is great State to visit. So diverse. Hope you make it out sometime soon!

  11. My youngest daughter lived in SoCal for 7 years and a few of them were in Ocean Beach and a short while in Pacific Beach - which was fun but she isn't a big partier - she likes it quiet and serene.

I am going out there in Oct for my birthday, been a few years since I have - hope you had fun. They have perfect weather out there, even with June Gloom it's better than Ohio!!!!
