Easter Baskets

Easter baskets are ready. I finished them while the kids were sleeping last night. They just need cellophane and ribbon. Doing the Easter baskets is one of my favorite things. I start collecting things early. I bought Lucie's American Doll craft projects when I saw them on sale of 40% off at Michaels over a month ago.

Growing up, it was tradition to ALWAYS have the same basket every year. The kids have had these since we moved back to the United States in 2003. Every year I try to throw something in that the kids can use for summer. Lucie is getting new purple goggles. There are lots of hidden things as well, like a big tube of lip gloss, fuzzy pink socks, and fun lollipops that turn your mouth into a rabbit. Lucie said, next to Christmas, this is her favorite holiday.

Here is Lucas' basket. He gets the big "Texter" bunny. He is actually holding a phone. Very apropos for Lucas whom is always on some sort of device. He has been begging to shipwrecked again, so I thought that would be fun. new swimsuit, and some torpedo toys for the pool in Vegas. Last time we were there a little boy LOVED his torpedo, so I kind of talked him to giving it to the little boy. Later Lucas cried about it. So, this will be a nice surprise. Not too much candy as I have over 100 plastic eggs filled with candy to hide.

Lucas and Lucie are the only little ones. So this year I thought I would get more people involved in the hunt. Adults will look for yellow eggs. Seven of the yellow eggs have a number that correspond with a small prize. The other yellow eggs have small chocolates and Cadbury eggs.
